Rachna Khanna is the founder and managing partner of Rachna Khanna Law, LLC, based in Manchester, Conn. The firm specializes in immigration, naturalization, and small business law, as well as estate planning, personal injury, will planning, criminal defense, trust and estate litigation, and labor and employment law.
Before founding her own law practice, Khanna worked as an administrator for 50 medical personnel at Eastern Connecticut Cardiology Associates. She is also a successful real estate investor, owning office buildings in Manchester, Conn., and residential properties in New York City, Miami, Bermuda, and India.
Khanna is active and engaged with the University and with her own community. She has been a member of the Barney School of Business Board of Visitors since 2010 and has mentored many Barney School students to ensure that they are career ready. In 2018, she joined the board of directors for MARC, Inc., which provides opportunities for people with intellectual developmental disabilities. Previously, Khanna was a member of the South Windsor Republican Town Committee and also was a candidate for town council in South Windsor, Conn., in 2009. Khanna also volunteers her time as a Medicare consultant, counseling patients in health care. Most recently, she was an honoree at the India Association of Central Connecticut’s International Women’s Day Celebration in 2020.
In addition to her work and her dedication to her community, Khanna is a passionate environmental activist. She has worked with David Pines, professor of civil, environmental, and biomedical engineering at UHart, to bring clean and sustainable water to residents of Abheypur, India, a village about 30 miles south of New Delhi.
As a student at UHart, Khanna was a member and chair of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for business students. She earned her Master of Business Administration from the Barney School of Business in 2003. She previously received a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from University of Delhi, a textile design degree from New Delhi Polytechnic, and a Juris Doctor degree from Western New England University in 2017.
