Elijah Faust ‘25, M’26 is on an ambitious path, pursuing both his undergraduate degree in management and a Master of Business Administration through the University of Hartford’s 3+1 program.
This past summer, Faust completed a transformative 10-week internship with Albertsons Companies in its supply chain management department in Methuen, Massachusetts. All his hard work and dedication paid off: he was offered a role as a supply chain transportation supervisor upon graduation, where he will oversee logistics and optimize transportation processes for the company.
For Faust, understanding the inner workings of businesses has always been a passion. He is driven by a desire to master the skills necessary to effectively manage people, projects, and resources. "Pursuing a management major has allowed me to develop a wide range of business skills, which are essential for my future career," he says.
The University of Hartford has played a key role in shaping his career. Faust credits his success to the university’s combination of rigorous coursework and real-world experiences, including internships, which provide both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. “The Barney School offers incredible career services and networking opportunities that have helped me grow professionally and personally,” he says. He also highlights the support of the Allen Center for Career and Professional Development, where he received assistance with resume building, mock interviews, and networking strategies.
One standout moment during his internship was when he presented a cost-saving project to senior management at Albertsons' headquarters in Boise, Idaho. Over the course of the internship, Faust had the opportunity to shadow personnel from various departments, including HR, operations, and transportation. He truly enjoyed and appreciated stepping out of his comfort zone by meeting new people and refining his public speaking skills.
“The internship was a game-changer,” Faust says. “It deepened my understanding of the supply chain industry and sharpened my analytical and problem-solving abilities. It also taught me how to be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and the importance of teamwork and communication."
On campus, Faust stays busy with extracurricular activities, including membership in the Pre-Law Society and the Hispanic-Latino Student Association (HLSA). "These organizations have allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals and engage in meaningful discussions about law, culture, and diversity," he explains.
