The Center for Student Success (CSS) staff provides the resources and support necessary for a successful transition to college for our new students, and an enjoyable and rewarding academic and social experience at the University for all of our students. The Center includes information, guidance, and referrals in such areas as arranging for 1-1 tutoring, study skills, academic support services, mental health and wellness, career exploration and internships, financial aid and scholarships, Greek life, intramural athletics, and reminders about important deadlines.

In addition, the CSS will provide a client-centered, case-management approach for first-year students who are "at risk" of failing or leaving school. Faculty and staff are encouraged to call if they have concerns about a first-year student. The CSS is a drop-in center with no appointment needed.

Tutoring services offer free peer-to-peer support for many courses through all degree programs. Visit this page to learn more.

Access-Ability Services at the University of Hartford provides accommodations and services to students with disabilities to ensure a university experience that gives individuals with disabilities the same access to programs, opportunities and activities as all others.

Our services are designed to meet the unique educational needs of students with documented disabilities such as learning disabilities, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, acquired brain injuries, psychiatric disabilities, physical disabilities, chronic medical conditions, deafness and hearing impairments, and blindness and visual impairments.

We engage in an interactive process with each student and review requests for accommodations on a case-by-case basis. In determining reasonable accommodations, we consider each student’s condition(s), history, experience, request, and the unique characteristics of each course and program. Please don’t hesitate to contact our office with questions.

The Athletic Counseling Office for Student-Athletes was established to provide services to ensure each student-athlete's personal and academic success. Since student-athletes are required to commit a large percentage of their time to athletic activities, the university realizes the need for a support program to assist student-athletes in achieving their individual, academic, personal and athletic goals. The University of Hartford is committed to its student-athletes as a total person.

The Athletic Counseling Program consists of the following: Study Hall; Tutors; Academic Progress Reviews; Academic Recognition Awards; Study Skills Training; Academic Orientation; Senior Exit Seminar; Newsletters; Career Services; Champs Life Skills Programs; Personal Counseling and various academic and sports-related workshops. Thus the student-athlete is provided with a variety of resources - all aimed at academic, personal and athletic development.
