The Center for Student Success (CSS) staff provides the resources and support necessary for a successful transition to college for our new students, and an enjoyable and rewarding academic and social experience at the University for all of our students. The Center includes information, guidance, and referrals in such areas as arranging for 1-1 tutoring, study skills, academic support services, mental health and wellness, career exploration and internships, financial aid and scholarships, Greek life, intramural athletics, and reminders about important deadlines.
In addition, the CSS will provide a client-centered, case-management approach for first-year students who are "at risk" of failing or leaving school. Faculty and staff are encouraged to call if they have concerns about a first-year student. The CSS is a drop-in center with no appointment needed.

The Student Government Association (SGA) matches students seeking tutors for particular courses with students who performed well in these courses for one-on-one sessions. Tutors are available for a wide range of courses.

The Center for Reading and Writing (CRW) Tutoring Center, offers one-on-one assistance with peer or professional tutors, offering academic strategies for writing essays, research papers, task management, etc., to students in all departments and colleges. The Center is generally open Mondays through Fridays,10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with occasional evening and Saturday hours. It is recommended that students call 860.768.4312 for an appointment.

Access-Ability Services at the University of Hartford provides accommodations and services to students with disabilities to ensure a university experience that gives individuals with disabilities the same access to programs, opportunities
Our services are designed to meet the unique educational needs of students with documented disabilities such as learning disabilities, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, acquired brain injuries, psychiatric disabilities, physical disabilities, chronic medical conditions, deafness and hearing impairments, and blindness and visual impairments.
We engage in an interactive process with each student and review requests for accommodations on a case-by-case basis. In determining reasonable accommodations, we consider each student’s condition(s), history, experience, request, and the unique characteristics of each course and program. Support services for student athletes include: tutoring, time management sessions, personal counseling, proofreading, proctoring exams for students who have missed exams due to travel, academic progress reviews, mid-term progress reports, academic recognition awards, Champs Life Skill Workshop, various academic and sports workshops, academic advising, registration assistance, and tracking. The staff is responsible for the daily monitoring of NCAA academic compliance regulations as well as NCAA progress towards degree regulations. The support services staff is also responsible for advising the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), organizing community service projects, planning the end of the year athletic banquet, overseeing athletic award nominations, and planning Girls and Women In Sports Day and Howie's Sportsmanship Academy. A study hall is provided for all student athletes; all new and returning athletes with a GPA of 2.2 or below are required to attend six hours per week.
Study hall hours: Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday during sports center hours.
Office hours: Support services staff available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
