The Imagination of Italy

Explore and tour Italy from the Renaissance until now in this course. Students will learn about the history of Italy’s contributions to the understanding of creativity from da Vinci and Galileo’s Renaissance, through Galvani’s Age of Enlightenment, and into the age of Romanticism. Florence, Pisa, Bologna, and one of the world’s oldest universities, the University of Padua, will be explored. Students will have the opportunity to visit sites where great thinkers were inspired, and see their original work filled with the advancement of new ideas ahead of their time.

The University of Hartford is offering all first- and second-year students the opportunity to spend 7 – 10 days in May abroad in one of four select locations. This is a great opportunity to spend your break immersing yourself in another culture!

The Italy study abroad trip was amazing and I would highly recommend other students take the opportunity to apply if they can because this was an awesome experience to have. As an art student, I was in awe the whole time I was there and was able to see art from my classes or have learned about it in person.
