Gabriela Gamory ’21, a biomedical engineering major in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA), participated in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program at East Carolina University over the summer of 2019.
Gamory worked as a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Student - Biomedical Engineering: Simulation, Imaging and Modeling REU Program at East Carolina University. Only ten students are chosen to work with an assigned faculty mentor to complete a graduate-level research project for ten weeks. Her project/job involved creating a computer-generated model of the calf muscles to enable the study of Achilles tendon ruptures.
Gaby is a rising junior in CETA as a member of the CETA Leadership Society and is also a member of the Women's Soccer Team at the University. Gaby is an example of a student who is playing an active role at UHart both academically and personally.
Gabriela Gamory ’21, BSBEThis program provided a lot of networking opportunities and clarity on the various career options in the BME field, and I get to present my work at the annual Biomedical Engineering Society Conference in October! It was a lot of fun using my classroom knowledge and experience from the engineering and design classes at UHart to the biomechanics lab here at ECU.
