Summer housing is available for current and incoming University of Hartford students Thursday, May 9, 2024 - Thursday, August 22, 2024. Current students, as well as incoming DPT/MSPO/MSOT students, must request summer housing by paying a $50 Summer Housing Application Fee and completing the Summer Housing Application in the housing portal. The Summer Housing Application will open on April 1.

The deadline to apply for summer housing is May 1. Completed Summer Housing Applications will be reviewed and, if necessary, information verified by faculty and/or staff members. Students will be notified the week of May 8 to confirm they meet summer housing requirements.

Students who submit a Summer Housing Application after the priority deadline will be billed a $50 late fee and requests will be reviewed and approved on a rolling basis, based on availability. Please allow up to five business days for a response after submitting a Summer Housing Application after May 1.

Dining Over the Summer

Meal plans are unavailable during the summer. Spring meal plans end after dinner the day before residence halls close for students not participating in Commencement. Students applying for Summer Housing must provide their own meals, cookware, utensils, and dishes throughout the summer. Please visit CampusDish to learn more about summer dining options including locations and hours.

Here are some important guidelines that will be in effect:

  • Students applying for summer housing by May 1 will be billed as part of the June billing cycle. Students applying for housing after May 1 will be billed as part of the next billing cycle.
  • All University of Hartford and Office of Residential Life Rules and Regulations remain in effect during break periods—including the Visitor Policy. Any student violating any policy may be asked to leave campus immediately and is subject to further conduct action.
  • Access to spaces, offices, and services may be limited or unavailable at times during the summer. For more information regarding a specific office's availability, please visit their website or contact them directly for more information. Please plan accordingly and in advance.
  • Please be advised Facilities may find it necessary to enter rooms to complete routine maintenance, make repairs or updates, and to clean.
  • There will be a limited number of Residential Life student leaders and staff present on campus. Public Safety will remain open.

Students requesting summer housing will be assigned a space in the Village Apartments or F Neighborhood, as space allows. Single-occupancy rooms are limited, especially in the Village. Once the Village is filled, students will be assigned to rooms in F Neighborhood— with access to a community kitchen. Student must provide their own cookware, utensils, and dishes to use in community kitchen areas.

It takes several weeks to clean and prepare spaces so students can move to their new housing assignments. The Office of Residential Life will notify students when it is time to move into their summer housing assignments. Most students will remain in their spring housing assignments until the end of May. Students who need to move to before the end of May will be notified by the Office of Residential Life.

Summer housing students should be prepared to move to their fall housing assignments beginning August 1.

Summer housing rates vary based on room type and location.

Students may be required to move multiple times and must move when requested.

Summer housing assignments will be available in the housing portal. Please note that some summer housing assignments may not be available until check-in to best meet student requests and limit multiple moves.
