The University of Hartford's Counseling and Psychological Services Department (CAPS) has a longstanding commitment to the training and development of mental health professionals who are pursuing advanced degrees.
Our Training Program
Typically, the training experience at CAPS involves a 20–24 hour-per-week placement with a caseload of 10 to 15 clients. Trainees participate in weekly individual supervision as well as weekly group supervision in clinical case conferences and didactic presentations. Opportunities may also exist to co-lead psychotherapy and psychoeducation groups and provide outreach to the University community.
