Go Hawks!

It’s an exciting time to be a Hartford Hawk!

Whether you are an accomplished athlete, a student who wants to compete more informally, or someone who just wants a good workout, the University of Hartford has opportunities for you.

Our women’s soccer team claimed UHart’s first-ever championship as part of the rebranded Conference of New England this past fall—and then went on to win the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III women’s soccer championship for the second consecutive year. Over their final six games, the Hawks outscored their opponents, 29–0.

During the colder days of winter, come cheer on our men’s and women’s basketball teams inside the fan-friendly Chase Arena in Reich Family Pavilion, a 3,508-seat facility regarded as one of the top smaller arenas in the Northeast.

UHart has added field hockey and men’s & women’s tennis to its intercollegiate athletics offerings effective this academic year, with varsity competition set to commence in fall 2025. These additions increase the number of intercollegiate sports at the University to 20.

If you are a runner—or even a walker—you will want to utilize the Grant Family Track and Field, which opened in late 2024. It features a 400-meter, eight-lane “full pour” track that surrounds a new field tailored to field hockey.

Intramural sports continue to grow throughout the campus community. It’s a great way to relax, have fun, and connect with fellow students. Friendly individual, dual, and team competition takes place in a wide range of sports, ranging from flag football to pickleball to 3-on-3 basketball.

Yet another option is our club sports, offering men’s, women’s, and coed opportunities. Our eight club sports programs include dance, rugby, and ultimate frisbee.

Regardless of your athletic skill level, the University of Hartford is committed to provide you with an inclusive student experience, one that is rooted in health, wellness, and belonging.
