Orin Wolf '01, who graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Actor Training from The Hartt School, addressed UHart undergraduates on Sunday, May 19. Wolf is the lead producer of the Tony-Award winning musical, The Band’s Visit, which won 10 Tony Awards in 2018, including Best Musical, making it one of the most Tony-winning musicals in history. It also won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Wolf is also president of NETworks Theatrical Presentation, the largest Broadway touring production company.
A feature in UHart’s H Magazine, harpist Brandee Younger ’06 pushes the creative envelope. A graduate of The Hartt School in harp performance and music business, Younger now spends her weeks in the recording studio, gigging in New York or trading for concerts around the country, and teaching.
Children love playing with dolls they can identify with. But for many kids with disabilities, it is difficult to find dolls that look like them. Mikaela Nelson ’18 is hoping to change that. The prosthetics and orthotics graduate from University of Hartford’s College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, creates dolls with prostheses for children with artificial limbs.
UHart holds a dear place in the heart of Reverend Denise Tracy '72. Her mother, Theresa Tracy, founded the Red Caps to help students succeed. As an alumna, Tracy feels the University prepared her well for a rich and fulfilling career.
