Overview

Along with your academics, you will develop the necessary skills to succeed through career planning and exploration activities. Our undergraduate degree programs offer important career-prep courses, like resume preparation, interview techniques, job-search techniques, business etiquette, and professionalism. Constantly updated to reflect the evolving business and hiring environments, our students receive the latest expert training to be competitive when applying for internships and jobs.

Augmenting the classroom development of career activation, there are programs for acquiring professional certificates in areas such as skill development, communications, change management, and project management. The Barney School of Business launched the Barney Passport Program for its undergraduate, graduate, and faculty in 2020. The purpose of this program is to provide a series of credentialed programs and certificates indicating skills acquisition and mastery in a subject or skill area.

Empowering Entrepreneurship Showcase

Join us for the Empowering Entrepreneurship Showcase, an exciting two-part event celebrating local small businesses and the entrepreneurs behind them! Kick off the evening with a vibrant vendor pop-up featuring innovative products and services from student and local business owners. Then, gain valuable insights and inspiration during a dynamic panel discussion where entrepreneurs share their journeys, challenges, and successes. Udemy is an online learning and teaching marketplace with over 250,000 courses. Learn programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL, Excel: basic data management and analytics, Tableau: data visualization, and Project Management. Our Barney Instructors have also created some Udemy Learning Paths that align with Barney courses, such as BAR 111:Python, PMP, CAPM, QNT 501 Refresher Math and Statistics, just to name a few.

Bloomberg for Education

Bloomberg for Education offers a series of credentials that will boost your knowledge and strengthen your job applications. These e-learning courses provide a self-paced, interactive way to explore different areas of finance deeply. Upon finishing each program, you will receive a certificate of completion that you can promote on your LinkedIn, resume, and CV.
