Our team of creative professionals brings the UHart brand to life through the development, design, and production of our print and digital marketing materials, web site, photos, video, and more. We work with our University partners to craft communications that inspire engagement and meet communication goals.
Offered Services
The OMC team provides these services:
- Strategy, planning, copywriting, and design of print and digital marketing communication projects, including advertising, and web
- Direction for the UHart brand, including standards for our visual identity and editorial style
- Media buying for both traditional and online advertising campaigns
- Management of a digital marketing photography library

We are also the stewards of UHart’s brand’s visual identity and design style. By using the brand’s elements of typography, photography, color, and graphics, we work with our content creator counterparts to demonstrate the core values of the University of Hartford.

Our writers and editors tell the UHart story in our print and online publications, as well as help you craft messaging for your own program's marketing needs. We are experts in the AP and Chicago style manuals, and maintain the University's editorial style guide, which includes UHart's own idiosyncratic vocabulary.

If you would like us to alert the news media about an upcoming event, guest speaker, or accomplishment (your own or that of a colleague or student), our office can assist you in crafting and distributing a release to area media. We also have relationships with many digital and printed publications and can assist you with crafting your advertising message and design, as well as your media buy.

Our web team works with content managers across campus to keep their sections of the UHart website updated, accurate, exciting, and fresh. If you oversee a department, office, or program and would like to update your website, or please contact your school's Marketing Communications Manager. Photography allows us to tell authentic stories in a single moment. Photos are one of the hardest-working and most-valued assets available. Take great care and be thoughtful when selecting photos. Be sure that they’re authentic, relevant, and add value to the composition.
Only authentic photos should be used in University communications: stock imagery depicting students, faculty, or campus spaces are not permitted. The creative team in the Office of Marketing and Communication has crated a vast library of images of the University, our students, faculty, and staff. We have also cultivated relationships with reliable photographers and videographers, so please reach out if you need to hire a professional for your marketing needs.
