Excellence achieved.
At UHart, we are committed to making your education affordable and attainable.
We offer scholarships that can be as much as full tuition to students who display academic merit, artistic talent and performance, or program-specific interests.
Each year, accepted students with high academic success are invited to a scholarship competition for National Honors recognition. These University scholarships are renewable for four years when the recipient maintains a 3.25 cumulative GPA. The competition includes three components: students complete an essay, participate in an interview with a faculty member, and attend a scholarship program where they can meet current students, and other accepted students. These scholarships empower students from varied backgrounds and interests to make the most of their UHart experience.
Jacqueline Tran '28
Jacqueline Tran ’28 from Waterford, CT is a Biochemistry major, Computer Engineering minor, and student athlete on the Women’s Golf Team. She initially didn’t know much about UHart when she received her acceptance letter, but once she stepped foot on campus, she quickly fell in love with the school and appreciated that the University of Hartford wanted her to be here as much as she wanted to attend. Now that she is settled in, she has a lot of favorite aspects of her UHart experience, including being able to balance being an honors student, student athlete and a resident of Hawk Hall. Jacqueline is able to be a part of many different communities, without being overwhelmed, and also maintaining continued academic success at the same time.
When asked to reflect on what the scholarship means to her, Jacqueline shared a story of her grandparents fleeing Vietnam during the war on a tiny boat with nothing but their babies and the clothes on their back to seek refuge in Thailand, followed by the United States. Their voyage was to give their children, and future generations, better opportunities than they had. This fuels Jacqueline’s motivation to succeed every day. “Being a recipient of the National Honors Scholarship is an achievement that shows what I have done with the opportunity that was given to me by my family. Winning the scholarship has changed my life forever.”
