Nina Nhatavong

Outstanding Alum: Early Career Professional

It’s been just three years since Netanya “Nina” Nhatavong earned the degree that launched her career in community health, but in that short time, she has quickly rose to success and proven just what’s possible.

Most recently, Nhatavong served as an AmeriCorps program specialist for the Community Health Center, Inc., a non-profit health care provider that supplies comprehensive primary care services in medicine, dentistry, and behavioral health to undeserved communities. Nhatavong’s role built on her experience both as a research coordinator for the organization and an AmeriCorps member.

Nhatavong is a cum laude graduate of the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP). She obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2020 and is now working towards a master’s degree in public health at Southern Connecticut State University.

While a UHart student, Nhatavong was a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity, where she served terms as vice president and academic excellence chair. She was also involved as an ENHP ambassador and member of The Women's Advancement Initiative, which she has also generously supported as a donor.

Currently, Nhatavong resides in Wallingford, Connecticut.
