Things to Know
Student Life & Support
At most universities, student life and academic services are distinct units with different goals and priorities. At the University of Hartford, Student Affairs and Academic Affairs exist together under one label: the Division of Student Success.
Adjusting to college life can be a challenge. That’s why, at the new Center for Student Success, we help students seamlessly transition and get the support they need to feel acclimated. As a UHart student, you can receive one-on-one tutoring and support in areas such as:
-
Tutoring Center, study skills
-
Health, Safety, & Well-Being, mental health and wellness
-
Career Studio, career exploration and internships
-
Student Administrative and Financial Services, financial aid and scholarships
-
Clubs & Activities, getting involved on campus
We know that every student is different and we work collaboratively to celebrate and support each and every one of you.

Themelis Pelekanos '20
Finance, Barney School of Business
Themelis Pelekanos graduated Manchester Community College with an associate's degree in Accounting and Business Administration in May 2018. Shortly after, he started his academic career at UHart. Right from the start, everything fell into place—Professor Celia Lofink helped make the transfer process really easy and Professor Lashgari became his advisor and mentor. Additionally, Themelis received financial aid and a scholarship, which helped him financially.
UHart has been an incredible experience. I have met so many people, connected with companies, immersed myself in corporate opportunities, and made lifelong friends. I'm currently interning at United Technologies, and I'm looking forward to apply what I've learned at UHart in forging new relationships and career opportunities."
