Hartt's Javon Jackson, a professor of Jazz Saxophone and Director of Jackie McLean Jazz Studies Division was featured on NPR for the release of a new album with renowned poet Nikki Giovanni.
Inspirational Students: Hank's Story
Resilient. Determined. Unconstrained. These are just a few of the words used to describe Hank Bolden, an 83-year-old jazz saxophone student that returned to The Hartt School to complete the degree that he started in the 1950s. As one of the few remaining African-American Atomic Veterans, Hank’s story shows that music knows no bounds, and that it is never too late to pursue your passion.

Innovative Performances: The Richard P. Garmany Chamber Music Series
World-class artists perform at The Hartt School. The Garmany Chamber Music Series brings new music, cutting edge ensembles, and innovative approaches to the performance of chamber music, and involves many areas of the school in masterclasses, coachings, and lectures.

Collaborative Celebrations: Diversity in Arts and Action Festival 2022
A continuation of the Hartt 100 Celebration, The Hartt School presented a weeklong festival featuring a lecture series, composer/performer series, and concerts.
