Commencement Reminders and Deadlines

We can’t wait to celebrate with our graduates and families in May! Our 2025 Commencement exercises will take place at downtown Hartford's XL Center on Sunday, May 18. The ceremony for doctoral and master's recipients will take place at 9 a.m. Commencement for all undergraduate recipients will be held at 2 p.m.

We are pleased to share that there will be no limit to the number of guests who can come to watch the Class of 2025 achieve this milestone. Seating at the XL Center is general admission; no tickets are required. Guests may arrive one hour before each ceremony.

Degree Applications
Students who expect to graduate on May 18 and who have not yet filed a degree application must do so immediately. Thank you to those who met the degree application deadline of Feb. 14. All remaining students must file by March 7 to ensure they are on record and that their name will appear in the official Commencement program (if eligible). Applications are available through Self-Service by clicking on Student Main Menu, Student Academic Records, and Graduation Application. Please be sure to complete the Supplemental Questionnaire when submitting your application to complete the process. Once submitted, your evaluator will review it and if approved, it will be sent to the Registrar’s office.

Cap and Gown
Online cap and gown ordering is taking place now through April 13. Please reserve your regalia now.

Senior Portraits
Senior portrait sessions have been scheduled for March 10–12 and March 26–29 in GSU 341. Please sign up to reserve a time for your portrait. Additional April sessions will be available to reserve at a later date.
