Award-Winning Poet Suzanne Cleary to Visit Campus

In celebration of National Poetry Month, award-winning poet Suzanne Cleary will be on campus to read from her work, the third event in the Spring 2025 Cardin Reading Series!

Ms. Cleary's poems are conversational and often funny, and they find their way to startlingly beautiful places.

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 16, at 1 p.m. in the Greenberg Center in Harry Jack Gray.

Suzanne Cleary’s The Odds, her fifth full-length poetry collection, was just published by New York Quarterly Books.  Her earlier collections include Crude Angel (BkMk, 2018) and Beauty Mark (BkMk, 2013) which won the John Ciardi Prize for Poetry and also received the Eugene Paul Nassar Poetry Prize and the Patterson Award for Literary Excellence. Her books Keeping Time (2002) and Trick Pear (2007) were published by Carnegie Mellon University Press. Her other awards include a Pushcart Prize and the Cecil Hemley Memorial Award of the Poetry Society of America, and residencies at Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony. She is on the core faculty in the MFA in Creative Writing Program of Converse College.
