The Cardin Reading Series Presents: Three University of Hartford Alumni

On March 12, the Cardin Reading Series will feature three University of Hartford Arts & Sciences graduates who have gone on to pursue advanced degrees in creative writing. 

The reading will be held at 1 p.m. in The Greenberg Center in Harry Jack Gray. It will feature Ryan C. Bradley ‘13, Gabriella Navas ‘21, and John Dudek ‘10.

Ryan C. Bradley (he/him) is a musician, podcaster, and the author of Saint's Blood, Bad Connections: Horror Stories and Say Uncle. He co-wrote Dumb Bull**** for Brilliant Idiots with Michael Louis Dixon, Andrew Hilbert, and John Baltisberger. His short fiction has appeared in NoSleep, Tales to Terrify, and Dark Moon Digest among others. He co-hosts Horror Hangover with Cass Clarke. Learn more about him at ryancbradley.com.

Gabriella Navas is a Puerto Rican writer hailing from Jersey City. Her work has appeared in Little Patuxent Review, Sequestrum, Fractured Lit, Master’s Review, Quarterly West, [PANK], GASHER, and Storm Cellar. Gabriella is pursuing her MFA in Fiction at The Ohio State University.

John Dudek is originally from Connecticut. His creative work has appeared in The Southern Review, The Carolina Quarterly, Grist, The Journal, Lake Effect, The Midwest Review, Passages North, and elsewhere. He is a lecturer and Associate Director of Creative Writing at the University of Illinois Uraban-Champaign.

At 2:15 p.m., following the reading, Ryan, Gabi, and John will participate in a conversation about life after graduation, held in Hillyer Room 111. They will each share their experiences as UHart graduates, pursuing MFA programs in writing, and navigating the contemporary publishing landscape.
