Guy Drapeau Named Vice President and Chief Financial & Administrative Officer

An experienced finance professional, Guy P. Drapeau, has been named vice president and chief financial & administrative officer at the University of Hartford. He comes to UHart following 18 years at Trinity College in Hartford. He will join the UHart community officially on June 1, following a period of transition with Stephen Kenney, the University’s interim chief financial officer.

As the assistant vice president of finance at Trinity, Drapeau oversees an annual budget in excess of $160 million for 750 employees on campus and abroad. A highly respected colleague and valued campus resource, he successfully led Trinity’s financial and accounting activities to the highest levels of efficiency and responsibility.

In his nearly two decades at Trinity, serving as AVP for finance and associate treasurer, Drapeau has amassed an impressive array of accomplishments. These include successful negotiation and implementation of the school’s outsourced housing arrangements and health services, development and installation of a 1.4 MW fuel cell, a solar array on campus to improve energy financial management, and the successful integration of all university resources into a more effective enterprise resource planning system.

Prior to Trinity, Drapeau was the chief financial officer at at Profitec Telecom Services and controller at Spectrascan Health Services. He began his career working as a staff accountant for various local public accounting firms.

Drapeau, who resides in Rocky Hill with his wife and has two children, is a certified public accountant. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Quinnipiac University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University. Drapeau is very active in his community, having served as a baseball and softball coach for 12 years; he also plays drums in a local band. He has been elected to the Rocky Hill Town Council (2003–05) and Zoning Board of Assessment Appeals (2020–present). Drapeau currently serves on the advisory board of the Hartford Federal Credit Union and did the same for four years for the Connecticut Board of Certified Public Accountants.
