The Hartford Art School will host a lecture by Julia Hotz, a solutions focused journalist. Hotz’s talk “Social prescribing: reconnecting to what matters to you,” will touch upon the science, stories, and spread of social prescribing. The lecture will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m., in Wilde Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Hotz is this year’s Koltenuk Art and Healthcare lecture series speaker. She is author of the book, The Connection Cure.
The Koltenuk Art and Healthcare Lecture series began in 2015, and is supported by a generous gift from then Regent and Hartford Art School Endownment, Inc. Board Member, Deborah Koltenuk in honor of her sister. The purpose of the series is to explore the interdisciplinary connection between the arts and healing. Noted lecturers in the arts and health care are invited to campus on a regular basis and speak to the community about innovative arts programming in medical settings, and the signficant impact the arts can have on healing.
