Start 2025 Strong with Two Community Writing Opportunities

We are hosting two opportunities to fully engage in your scholarly and creative work this spring.  Apply for one or both today!

January Writing Challenge:

Start the year strong by dedicating just 15 minutes a day to your writing goals throughout the month of January. Whether you're working on a book, manuscript, grant proposal, or other professional or creative projects, this supportive community can help you make meaningful progress, even when other priorities compete for your time.

During the October session, participants collectively logged an impressive 22,358 words and 8,291 minutes of focused writing. One participant shared, "I loved having the writing challenge and would do it every other month or so if I could!"

If you're interested in joining, please submit an interest form by December 20th.

February Writing Retreat:

This retreat offers faculty a dedicated opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their scholarly work, free from distractions, while fostering a supportive community of colleagues for feedback and encouragement. The retreat is open to assistant, associate, and full professors, as well as tenure-track, clinical-applied, and part-time faculty.

Participants may use this time to advance their scholarship, creative projects, grant applications, or other professional endeavors. Past participants have described the retreat as both productive and enjoyable, highlighting the value of focused time and peer interaction.

Dates: February 7, 14, 21, and 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Each day begins with a light breakfast, followed by three hours of focused writing. A working lunch provides opportunities for networking and collaboration, while the afternoons are reserved for independent writing or peer feedback and collaboration.

Interested? Submit your application by January 21 (the first day of classes). Space is limited!
