Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and donor, Bernard “Bernie” H. Rosen ’61, M ’66, who left us at the remarkable age of 95.
Bernie was an extraordinary man—fun, witty, and sharp as ever. His love for the University of Hartford was very admirable, and he held a special place in our community. His enduring support for UHart inspired the creation of our Rosen Society, which honors loyal donors who give for two or more consecutive years. His presence illuminated our world, and his memory will surely remain a blessing to us all.
Bernie dedicated his life to education, serving in roles as a teacher and vice principal. A stoic and dedicated educator, he lived by the values he instilled in his students. His passion for learning was insatiable, whether through books, history, or keeping up with current events. Bernie believed deeply in the power of knowledge and its ability to transform lives, and this belief is what guided his actions and influenced all who knew him. His legacy here at the University of Hartford is extraordinary, and his contributions will continue to benefit countless students for generations to come. For those of us who were fortunate enough to meet Bernie, he was a blessing in so many ways. His light, kindness, and unwavering belief in education were inspiring.
Please join us in keeping Bernie’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts. May his memory forever be a source of inspiration and joy.
