CETA Professor and Department Chair Travels to Columbia for Conference

CETA Professor and Department Chair Saeid Moslehpour was invited to the Escuelas Internacionales de Formacion Avanzada conference in Colombia back in October. The purpose of EIFA 2024 "Engineering for the Challenges of the 21st Century: Challenges and Opportunities" was to provide an interdisciplinary platform for the discussion and exchange of knowledge on contemporary challenges and emerging opportunities in 21st-century engineering. The focus was on critical topics such as Industry 4.0, satellite systems and space technology, drones, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Moslehpour was once the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at CETA. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Computer in Education Journal for ASEE. He holds a PhD (1993) from Iowa State University, a Master's in Science (1990), and a Bachelor's in Science from the University of Central Missouri (1989). His research interests include modeling, simulation, testing, CPLDs, FPGAs, analog/digital mixing, embedded systems testing, rapid prototyping, and cyberlearning. He has served as Chair of the Faculty Senate at the University of Hartford (2011-13 and 2022-23), Chair of Section I of ASEE (2012–14), Co-Director of the Connecticut NASA Space Grant (2008–12), and Chair of the ECE Department (2010–16 and 2022–present).
