Join us for an insightful panel discussion featuring industry and faculty experts as we delve into the critical topic of Supply Chain Resilience. In today's rapidly changing global landscape, the ability to adapt and recover from supply chain disruptions has never been more vital for businesses. Our panel will explore innovative strategies, emerging technologies, and best practices that enhance resilience in supply chains. The panel discussion will take place on Nov. 6, in Wilde Auditorium. There will be networking and refreshments from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., then the speaker panel will follow from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Meet the speakers:
David Stec: Program Director and Clinical Instructor, University of Hartford
David is the program director of supply chain & logistics management at the University of Hartford. He has 30 years of industry experience where he held director-level positions in Operations and Supply Management and has been teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs for 24 years. He received his MBA and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Lan (Vicky) Luo: Assistant Professor, University of Hartford
Vicky is an assistant professor of supply chain management. Her research interests include supply chain risk management, supply chain/finance interface, inventory and capacity management, and healthcare management. She received her PhD in operations management from Washington State University.
Ryan Scott: Supply Chain Program Manager, CONNSTEP
Ryan oversees CONNSTEP’s supply chain initiatives, manages the SCOIN grant, and leads supplier scouting efforts all aimed at developing Connecticut’s small-to-medium sized manufacturers to support economic growth. Ryan is currently completing his degree in Business Analytics and Managerial Economics at the University of Hartford, where he will graduate in Fall 2024.
Brian Ferguson: Director, Management Consulting, Supply Chain Advisory, RSM US LLP
Brian is a supply chain leader in RSM’s management consulting practice and the consulting sector leader for the Food and Beverage industry vertical at RSM. He is an experienced leader in manufacturing and warehousing operations with a focus on lean business process improvement. Brian has directly led organizations in the consumer products, manufacturing, not for profit, and technology industries where he has launched new businesses, operations, manufacturing systems, and products. He has experience administering leadership development programs, lean six sigma, strategic and tactical planning, and change management.
Amanda C. Dzen: Purchasing Manager – Edco Engineering
Amanda C. Dzen has been working in the aerospace and space procurement industry since 2021, after completing her MBA at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business. Currently, she is preparing to take the APICS CSCP certification exam while working as a Purchasing Manager for Edco Engineering.
