Long-Term Care Open Enrollment

Did you know that the University of Hartford offers the option for you to purchase a voluntary long-term care insurance policy to assist you in securing your financial health and wellness, both now and in retirement?

The University’s voluntary long-term care insurance, offered through Unum, is available to all regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff working 20 or more hours per week.  Family members of eligible faculty and staff (spouse/same-sex partner, grandparents, children 18+, siblings 18+ and in-laws) and retired faculty and staff (and their spouse/same-sex partner) are also eligible to apply for long-term care insurance and  also take advantage of the University’s group discounts.

Long-term care insurance is designed exclusively to cover the costs associated with long-term care services should you become unable to care for yourself.  A single long-term care event can exhaust decades of hard earned savings.  It will provide a level of coverage for care received in an assisted living facility, a nursing home or even in your own home, should you need assistance with two of the six Activities of Daily Living (i.e. eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring and continence) or become cognitively impaired.

We are offering a long-term care open enrollment from Sept. 17 through Oct. 15, 2024. Please see the flyer using the link below to learn about this benefit offering, apply for coverage, or register for an informational webinar.
