Looking for a volunteer opportunity? Want to de-stress? Need a break from studying? Want to co-create environmental art? Come sew a whale in GSU 339 and take part in a unique public art project!

Join scientist and artist Kat Owens to collaborate on a life-sized portrait of a whale. Throughout the semester, she will be holding open sewing sessions in GSU 339 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., every Wednesday until Dec. 4.

Together, we will be working on a life-sized portrait of the North Atlantic Right Whale which will be 52 feet long when finished.

Drop ins welcome—no need to RSVP. You may sew for as little or as long as you like or just pop in to see the project!
