John Paul Cagnetta, who served as dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture from November 1994 to December 1997, died on August 2.
With over 40 years of professional engineering experience in research and design engineering in the energy field, Cagnetta served in various engineering management positions at Northeast Utilities, retiring as senior vice president in 1994. He then shared his talents and expertise in the academic arena, first at UHart and, later, as president of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering.
Cagnetta proudly served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of captain.
