The Office of Student Financial Aid and the Allan Center of Career and Professional Development will once again be hosting an on-campus Student Employment Fair. This event is designed for on-campus departments looking to hire for Federal Work-study and other part-time student employment positions for the 2024–25 Academic Year. All federal work-study recipients will be invited to attend. We have many students hoping to secure employment this Fall!
The fair will be hosted on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in GSU North Café. Departments interested in attending to recruit student employees should email career@hartford.edu to reserve their spot. All open positions will also be posted to Handshake, UHart’s online internship and job platform. Please prepare position descriptions for posting.
Additional Federal Work Study reminders:
- The 2024–25 standard pay rate for federal work-study will be $15.69 per hour.
- You can confirm a student is work-study eligible under the employee tab on self-service. Just click the ‘Validate Student” link. This will also show the total amount a student can earn throughout the academic year. It is the supervisors' responsibility to monitor the student's hours worked/paid.
- Before a student can begin working, they must have an approved Epaf which requires financial aid and HR approval.
- Students can begin working on the first day of class and must stop working on the last day of finals.
