Mark Twain Drive Entrance Open to UHart Community Members During Peak Times

To ease traffic congestion at our main entrance, the Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce that the Mark Twain Drive entrance will be open to faculty, staff, and students during peak traffic hours. This adjustment is aimed at reducing congestion and providing a smoother entry and exit experience for everyone.

The Mark Twain Drive entrance will be accessible Monday through Friday, only when classes are in session, during the following times:

  • 7:30–9 a.m.
  • 3–4:30 p.m.

This entrance is available for UHart community members and vendors. Please note that access at Mark Twain will be monitored, and you will need a valid UHart ID and a current vehicle sticker on your car window to enter the campus. If you have not done so, please sign up for a parking permit.

As a reminder, the north entrance gate (on Bloomfield Ave) is also open from 7:30 to 9 a.m. during the academic year. Please continue to exercise caution in utilizing this very busy section of Bloomfield Avenue during peak traffic times.

Please note that the morning traffic flow will increase significantly as the academic year begins tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug. 27) at the University of Hartford Magnet School. Faculty, staff, and students will find that the Mark Twain Drive and north gate entrances will have minimal wait or congestion.

We hope this change makes your daily commute a bit easier!
