The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering program in the College of Arts and Sciences has been accredited by the Computing and the Engineering Accreditation Commissions of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology.
“Receiving ABET accreditation for our computer science and engineering program is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students,” said Department of Computing Sciences Chair and Professor Carolyn Pe Rosiene. “This accreditation not only validates the high standards of our curriculum, but also reinforces our commitment to preparing graduates who are equipped to tackle the complex challenges of the modern technological landscape. We are incredibly proud of this milestone and excited about the opportunities it will create for our students and the impact they will have in their future careers.”
ABET accreditation assures that programs meet standards to produce graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies, and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public.
Sought worldwide, ABET’s voluntary peer-review process is highly respected because it adds critical value to academic programs in the technical disciplines, where quality, precision and safety are of the utmost importance.
