Fall Writing Retreat for Faculty

Are you ready for a productive semester? Apply for the Faculty Fall Writing Retreat before the first day of classes!

This 4-day writing retreat is intended to provide faculty with an opportunity to fully engage in their scholarly work without distraction and provide a community of colleagues for feedback and support. This opportunity is open to assistant, associate, and full professors; as well as tenure-track, clinical- applied, and part-time faculty.

You can use this time to work on your scholarship, creative work, grant applications, or really anything that helps you succeed. Participants from the Winter 2024 and Summer 2024 writing retreats found the experience useful and productive, as well as enjoyed interacting with colleagues. One participant indicated: “I liked that it forced me to focus on research. The flexible and relaxed format was great as it allowed me to not think I was forced to do something…I also liked the informal conversations where we discussed what we accomplished—it motivated me to get more done.”

Benefits of writing retreats include:

  • Protected writing time
  • Sense of community
  • Increased motivation and productivity
  • Increased well-being

Dates:

  • Sept. 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Each day begins with a light breakfast followed by three hours of writing time. A working lunch allows for networking and collaboration. Afternoons are reserved for more independent writing or peer feedback/collaboration.
