Hartford Art School faculty member Ellen Carey is one of the featured artists at a new exhibit at Gregory James Gallery*. The exhibit OP ART, presented by Portico New York, is a pop-up exhibition held July 19 through Aug. 11, with an opening reception on Friday, July 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Carey’s work is shown widely, and she continues to have an array of exhibitions. One of Carey’s recent two-part solo exhibitions Struck By Light was on display at the New Britain Museum of American Art from July 2023 through January 2024. In May, one of her other exhibits was on view at the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling in New York, and she was also one of the artists selected in a new exhibition at the Hill-Stead Museum.
