Aetna recently notified the University that Change Healthcare, a healthcare billing and data systems provider utilized by many insurance carriers, discovered a cyber security breach. At this time, Change Healthcare has not been able to tell us how many of our members were impacted as the breach spanned several insurance carriers. They estimate that 1 in 3 Americans will be affected by this breach.
Impacted members will be notified by Change Healthcare in late July. Free credit monitoring will be offered to all those impacted and a dedicated call center has been established to support members.
