DEIJB Faculty and Staff Pulse Survey 2023 Report

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement is pleased to share the report of the DEIJB Faculty and Staff Pulse Survey. In spring 2023, UHart conducted its first university-wide Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and Belongs (DEIJB) Pulse Survey. We appreciate all faculty and staff who participated in the inaugural Pulse Survey.

A committee composed of UHart faculty and staff designed and developed collaboratively the survey instrument and analyzed the data. The Pulse Survey was created to identify priorities and opportunities for improvement, change, and growth. The survey explored individual experiences and perceptions of the overall campus culture in such areas as belonging and inclusion. We were able to collect a wide range of demographic data, including some information not otherwise gathered and reported at the University. The findings from this survey will continue to inform the University’s commitment to "Promote a Vibrant, Diverse, Inclusive, and Socially Just Community," as specified in Goal 3 of UHart Start. Further analysis of the data will help to better understand as we hold ourselves accountable.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement looks forward to working with the community to deepen our understanding of identities present, their perceptions, and their experiences as we continue our journey to make UHart a more inclusive learning and workplace environment.
