The Connecticut Art Directors Club (CADC) recently named Hartford Art School's Michael Scricco as this year's Hall of Fame inductee. CADC shared the news to their community as "his creative brilliance has profoundly shaped our community, and his influence continues to inspire us all."

With over 50 years of experience, Mike Scricco served as executive creative director and managing partner at Keiler & Company, a marketing communications firm also in the CADC Hall of Fame. During his tenure, he collaborated with design legends Paul Rand and Saul Bass, among others. The Keiler portfolio includes national campaigns for PUMA, Lockheed Martin and NYU, alongside work in corporate identity, digital media and television commercials. Their achievements include the CLIO award and recognition in publications like Graphis Design Annuals and Print Magazine. Mike has served as past leadership of the CADC and continues to give back by teaching Civic Design at University of Hartford where students provide marketing and branding solutions for nonprofits.

The school’s Civic Design collective, which is both a course and a student visual communications agency, offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience by teaming with clients and professionals to build powerful and positive brand experience. Over the last 10 years, Civic Design has worked with almost 70 nonprofit and community organizations. The Civic Design collective also maintains its own website, which recent underwent a refresh by recent graduate and visual communication design major, Justin Stochel '24.

Additionally, at the CADC Hall of Fame event on June 25, Hartford Art School students will also be awarded Gold, Silver, and Excellence Awards. The winning design projects include The Hartt School's Theatre Division posters, as well as the highest award for HAS's Civic Design rebrand. According to Scricco, this is the "best showing ever" by HAS students, which is a testament to both students' talents and the cultivation by the creative community at the Hartford Art School.
