Exit Counseling Requirement

If you were a recipient of a Federal Direct Loan during your time at the University, federal regulations require you to complete Exit Counseling upon graduation. Students who are required to complete the Exit Counseling process have been notified via email and have the requirement posted to their self-service account.

To confirm if it is required for you, log into your Self-service account. After successful login, complete the following steps:

1. Select the Financial Aid tab
2. Select Eligibility
3. Select Aid Year (i.e., 2023-24 aid year)
4. Under Student Requirements, see Unsatisfied Requirements.

The requirement was to be completed by Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at studentaid.gov to prevent holds, however, can still be completed after the date. The Office of Student Financial Aid should receive electronic notification 24 hours after it is completed.
