Adjunct Professor Brian Jud’s MKT 310 course is providing students with a real-world experience of working with local clients to provide marketing plans. In this course, Introduction to Marketing, students examine the dynamics of marketing and its role today. In addition to discussing marketing functions, consumer behavior, marketing organizations, marketing research and other key dimensions of marketing, this course also addresses cultural, social, ethical, legal and international aspects of the field.
Two groups of five students will be assigned to each of the following businesses: The Talcott Mountain Science Center, Farmington Valley Nutrition and Wellness, and Gather on Hopmeadow. With a diverse group of businesses, the organizational, service, and retail industries will be represented. Students will apply content that they learn in the classroom by creating a marketing plan for their business.
This Tuesday, the three clients gave presentations to the class about their business’ background, their current marketing activities, and their objectives for this project. On April 30, students will present their respective marketing plans to the clients.
