Hartt Professor Marcus Thomas Publishes Conference Paper

Hartt Professor Marcus Thomas’ conference paper Do What Works: Using the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to Improve Student Perceptions of Their Own Intercultural Knowledge and Sensitivity was published in the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association (MEIEA) Summit Proceedings.

Professor Thomas’ research was conducted in a faculty learning community supported by the Davis Foundation. The aim of the study was to integrate intercultural knowledge and competence (as defined by the Association of American Colleges & Universities IKC Value Rubric) modules into course learning objectives to inform instructors and course developers on ways to assist students in becoming more responsive regarding issues of diversity.

Professor Thomas developed the conference paper to support a lecture presentation he delivered during the 2023 MEIEA Summit in March.
