University Holidays and Gift Days for New Academic Year

As we approach an exciting new academic year, and in an effort to provide all employees with advance notice of University time off, I am pleased to provide the schedule of University holidays and gift days for Fall 2023 through Summer 2024. 

This year, we have added a Fall Break (Oct. 5–6) and the University will be closed during this time. We have also added one additional day for Independence Day. All other holiday time has returned to a normal schedule, as outlined in our employee manual. As always, you are encouraged to use your vacation time to take or extend time off, to enjoy time with friends and family, as well as rejuvenate and recharge.   

2023

Monday, Sept. 4 (Labor Day)

Thursday, Oct. 5 and Friday, Oct. 6 (Fall Break)

Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 (Thanksgiving and Day After)
Please note that no classes are held the entire week of Nov. 20–24 per the academic calendar.

Monday, Dec. 25–Monday, Jan. 1 (Winter Break)

2024

Monday, Jan. 15 (MLK Day)

Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day)

Wednesday, June 19 (Juneteenth)

Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5 (Independence Day)

Please note, payroll processing deadlines may change due to these extended holidays. All supervisors should ensure that they adhere to established and/or modified payroll deadlines.
