HCD Expands Partnership with Boys and Girls Club of Greater Hartford

The Hartt Community Division is expanding its partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Hartford. Since the Fall of 2022, the partnership has grown to include three of the Club's buildings this summer. An important goal of HCD is cultivating community partnerships, and the relationship with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Hartford is evidence of this.

Recently, students from the Club visited Hartt for a tour and attended a master class with Jim Rickevicius, the Community Division's guitar coordinator. HCD also has dance and instrumental musical classes on the South Campus of the Greater Hartford Club.

Sabrina Herbert, Arts Director for the Club summed up the experience: “We were lucky enough to take students to the University of Hartford to tour the Alfred C. Fuller Music Center. They were able to see the practice rooms and performance venues, and got to have a lesson at the university with Jim Rickevicius. It was a wonderful trip, and we are so grateful to the University as well as to Thomas Scavone and (HCD Instructor) John Brewer for setting up this trip for us and joining us on the adventure."
