Architecture Summer Institute Students Wrap Up 3-Week Immersive Program
Junior and senior high school students interested in architecture participated in UHart's Architecture Summer Institute (ASI), an exclusive, three-week program that immerses students in the field of architecture and design. This pre-college program offers a hands-on opportunity to explore the fundamental elements of the architecture field while gaining valuable college experience.
Students learn a range of content focused on architectural practice including design, history, theory, structures, construction, and technology. After completion, students will have developed their own portfolio and also earn (3) college credits that can be applied to the University of Hartford at the discretion of the school or College.
During this session, students:
- Visited 2 architecture firms and a construction site in Farmington
- Worked on perspective drawings
- Drew campus building interiors and exteriors
- Designed structural projects and building models
At the end of the program, students displayed and presented their work to family and friends during the reception exhibit.
