Architecture Students Create Interactive Installation on Campus
Architectural Design + Technology students Anxhela Mete '23 and Samiha Alqatabi '23 designed, constructed, and installed an exterior seating project for their ADT 485 course. The two students established the installation as a way to give back to the campus community.
"The installation is meant to ignite connections and form new friendships between the students, staff, and faculty," Mete shared.
Mete and Alqatabi's project can be found along the path between the architecture and art building. The installation features bright, colored blocks that can be repositioned to create new shapes and sculptures.
Creating the installation helped Mete and Alqatabi get real-world architecture experience, as they navigated typical production challenges, such as ensuring high-quality and working in a short amount of time. Even still, Mete shared that building the seating was enjoyable and the team had a positive attitude through it all.
"Everyone is encouraged to play and interact with this installation and we hope that this project is a display of the many talents this campus has to offer," the grads said.
