UHart visit

Members of the University of Hartford's "Amplifying Indigenous Voices" committee paid a visit to the home of Clan Mother Shoran Waupatukuay Piper (Golden Hill Paugussett, Trumbull) on Juneteenth Day, June 19.  We learned about her family, tribal culture, and traditions, and saw firsthand how her tribe's land, the oldest continuous reservation in Connecticut, was unlawfully appropriated by the town and is currently occupied by non-tribal suburban residents.
