T. Stores Named Dean of Arts & Humanities at Framingham State University

The following official announcement today of the appointment of T. Stores to dean of the College of Arts & Humanities at Framingham State University is being shared with the University of Hartford community below:

Framingham State University is excited to announce the hiring of T. (Teresa) Stores as Dean of the College of Arts & Humanities, effective June 26, 2023.

Mx. Stores comes to FSU from the University of Hartford (UHart) where they serve as the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and tenured Professor in the Department of English. They received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Colorado and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Emerson College; they are currently completing doctoral studies in education (expected, 2023) in Educational Leadership from the University of Hartford. They have extensive experience in a variety of roles at the University of Hartford – from Associate Provost to Associate Dean for Curriculum and Instruction, to Director of Creative Writing, to Director of the Humanities Center, to Chair of multiple departments. Mx. Stores has also won multiple awards for leadership and innovation in teaching and learning. They are also an effective collaborator and convenor and passionate about “innovating across traditional divides,” as is evident in their success supporting Residential Life Communities at UHart, International Programs for UHart students in Italy, and providing faculty support from hiring through onboarding, promotion, tenure and reappointment, and career development. Their success in promoting anti-racist work is also evident in multiple ways, for example their involvement in the development of effective recruitment and retention practices for faculty members identifying as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). T. is the author of four books of fiction and expects to publish a fifth this year.
