Mike Ormsby Accepts New Role at University of Connecticut

It is with tremendous pride and great sadness that I announce that Mike Ormsby has accepted a new position with the University of Connecticut. Fitting his experience and talents, he will be overseeing the development of a one-stop shop as the Director of One-Stop Student Services. His last day with us will be Jan. 17, 2023. 

Mike has been part of the fabric of the University of Hartford since 2011. In his time here, he has been an RD in Residential Life and an Assistant Director in Career Services before moving into the “old” Student Success Center as an Assistant Director overseeing Orientation and student academic coaching. He was quickly promoted to Director and was instrumental in reshaping the Center for Student Success.   

Mike has been a mentor to many, a friend and resource to all, and our “cool cucumber” in stressful times. Of his many talents, it is his sense of humor, attentiveness to his colleagues, and steadfastness that we will miss most. While Mike has insisted he does not wish to have a party, he would love to hear from you individually with your memories, best wishes, and support.
