Barney Professor Provides Analysis to NBC CT

Following news that Microsoft plans to lay off 10,000 workers, Professor Ken Goroshko spoke with NBC CT about contributing factors and how pandemic ripple effects continue playing a role in business operations.

He explained that uncertainty about the economy, higher interest rates, and supply chain issues are likely reasons for the decision, as well as a need to adjust after an uptick in hiring earlier in the pandemic.

Goroshko is an executive in residence and instructor in economics, finance, and insurance at UHart’s Barney School of Business.
