#UHartInspires—Alumnus Chaz Davis ’16 Advocates for the Blind During COVID-19 Even as the Pandemic May Impact His Running Dreams
Chaz Davis ’16, who ran track and completed his degree at UHart despite his failing eyesight, now works with those who are newly blind in Massachusetts. He says this time of imposed isolation is especially difficult for the blind who often feel isolated already. Working as an adjustment counselor at the Massachusetts Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired, he is working to make sure the blind continue to receive the services they need.
Davis also continues to run and hopes to qualify for the Tokyo Paralympics but social distancing may put that dream on hold because he must run with a guide. Read more about how Davis is helping others and training for his dream here.
Thank you Chaz for helping others who are blind and visually impaired learn to maneuver the isolation and uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and best of luck in your quest to qualify to compete in Tokyo.
