Sean Svalestad ’23 is an active member of the University community. He’s studying business management at the Barney School of Business, is a Red Cap, and a Student Philanthropy Ambassador. He’s currently participating in the General Management Corporate Internship Program and his goal is to work with CVS or UHart after graduation.
“My love for the corporate world, and the possibility of community impact through an organization,” says Svalestad is the reason he chose to study business management. Svalestad was in a CVS learning experience class to help him prepare for steps beyond the classroom. He believes, “UHart, has given me the ability to work first hand with CVS and also network with many people.” Aside from the connections created with professors and friends, the career-ready classes were the favorite part of his UHart experience.
In some of those classes he worked with Dr. Loflink, and says of his experience, “She has been able to help me be career ready, and face the obstacles ahead.” He goes on to say, “UHart prepared me with their career ready class design. Each class has helped me take one step into the workforce.” His advice to incoming students is to be open to everything and apply yourself!
