Graduating senior, Ramon Evans, says his experience at UHart was “amazing.” It was important to Ramon to learn a lot about his area of study, electrical engineering in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA), but also to have new experiences during his four years on campus.
According to Evans, he had the chance to learn and experience so many new things in such a short period of time at UHart. He says “it has gone by so fast. UHart is a very welcoming place, and from the first day, I felt at home here. I have met so many amazing new students and faculty members throughout my time here," especially associate professor and department chair Ying Yu, with whom he worked closely in the electrical and computer engineering department.
Outside the classroom, Ramon was a soccer player on the men’s team. He cites his favorite memory of college as playing under Al-Marzook stadium lights with his fellow teammates. He comments, “I love the support all the fans provided during the games. Every night I stepped my foot on the pitch it was the best environment I could have ever dreamed of.”
Evans says, “UHart provided me with the basic fundamentals of electrical engineering and I also learned how to work collaboratively with team members.” Both of these skills will serve him well as he gets ready to begin his job as a systems engineer at Raytheon Technologies, while also beginning his masters in electrical engineering at Boston University in the fall.
When asked what advice he would give incoming students, he says that they should “enjoy every moment at UHart and just stay focus on your dream.”
