Biomedical engineering major Nicole Carr ’20 has an active role in CETA that is making a difference.
Nicole Carr ’20 is a biomedical engineering major with a concentration in biomedical engineering/pre-med in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA). She is an active member in the CETA community as the secretary for SWE (Society of Women Engineers) and BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society), as well as a member of the Outdoors Club on campus. Carr is aspiring to be an engineer because she enjoys learning how things work. She chose to attend the University because of its great student community in CETA.
Nicole worked as an engineering intern at Memry Corporation over the summer of 2019. Memry is a medical device manufacturing company that specializes in Nitinol, a nickel and titanium alloy used in medical instruments and implants. She worked in quality control, ensuring that the customer requirements have been met for the devices made. "This internship has been such an eye-opening experience,” says Nicole.
